Alter Ego: Online Gamers Revealed
#7- don't you remember one of the basic photography rules? Rule of Thirds.
#61- What decent photographer takes pictures of cell phones?!
#65- The so called "wrong" picture is more artistic than the "right".
#52- So what if I want to photograph a dead flower...
#78- Wow...i mean...geez. Not all of us are flawless, jerk.
this is terrible.
i think you failed at your attempted humor here, sorry
at least i hope you weren't trying to be serious here
Guys, it's sarcastic post and just for fun, not more :)
Just remember, the reason other people make these "mistakes" is because they don't value your opinion. Don't bother giving me a nasty comment back because I'm never going to check this site again.
that cracked me up as much as the 78 rules...! :-)
I apologize to the person who posted this, but there are so many things wrong with what's been posted
1.) Rule of thirds. Learn it, use that when focusing on a point, it will allow you to have a larger range in terms of depth of field, and allow you to concentrate on your focal point more efficiently.
2.) The things you are trying to mention about capturing, and not capturing when taking photographs.... Some of these issues are unavoidable depending on your situation and location, and every other factor that is beyond your control. Unless you somehow use a studio at all times.
3.) landscape photography is just that.....unless you specifically want a human in the photo do not wait to capture it when there is someone, its like having a bug on your lens otherwise
4.) Over exposure and under exposure can be a great way to enhance certain aspects of a photo, its just like playing with lighting angles.
5.) Using a flash. Not something anyone I've ever known has overly recommended when it comes to photos. It way over brightens areas unless you are using a diffuser, and even then, can still have scorching, and hot spots. If you do use a flash, you should invest in a high end one.
6.) Yes.... we do know that trying to capture something is good...please don't make us feel like idiots when it comes to not managing to get something in the frame because it happened to move a bit too quickly.
... and last but not least, don't listen to what anyone else says about right and wrong when it comes to photography. Its a personal vision, do what you want with it.
hahahhhaha! :D
Rules in art exist as guidelines only, not doctrine.
remember Duchamp's toilet? yea.
Except the one about holding your camera at an angle.. It doesn't make your picture any better or more artistic people!!
Moreover photography is art! There is no right or wrong in the first place.
And me, because I worth it!
lol lol lol omg
other way this page defects his humor which is totally stupid
"Try to look in viewfinder, not in the lens"!!!
regards!
el resto me parecen puras reglas que valen la pena violar
funny and interesting =)
funny and interesting tips of photography =)
When I got to the 6th on the list, I was like, "O.o, wtf?!"
Lol, nice job.
but with #7? putting the subject in the center? i don't think so. rule of thirds, darling... =)
but hey this is a really funny post. i love it
NO CREI QUE FUESEN TAN TARADOS.......
but hey 'for complete idiots' explain it.
Me he partido de risa con esta página.
Saludos.
TIME WASTED COULD HAVE WALKED MY DOG INSTEAD
But on the whole - great article and idea to illustrate common mistakes.
But yeah i guess if this is a post for non-serious photographers otherwise "idiots" then i guess this is pretty helpful advice when not trying to think about what you actually want to do, but take a quick nice shot.
p.s.
have you guys never heard; 'if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all'?
Pretty hilarious though--lens caps + fingers + etc.
1. When posting an article it is better to not post useless,
Garbage.
You should take a look at "le manuel de la photo ratée" from Thomas Lélu:
http://www.amazon.fr/Manuel-photo-rat%C3%A9e-Th...
I believe that everything is possible.
"Wrong" picture are fun, personal, reflect life, and all kind of emotions.
So, there is no rules at all.
Just try, experiment and play!
Dker
Looks like some people in there didn't learn to read.
I lol'd.
When taking pictures, remember to have a camera.
And LOL @ the hate on this article!
You people need to get a sense of humor and chill out!
Apparently photography is "serius bisness" :D
If you want to take pictures that are "artistic" you should have a good base in what is normal and easy to understand before you start trying to work outside those confines.
Sure, you can mess around like Mann Ray with your photos, but you should have an understanding of what you're doing first.
I can't understand anyone getting all angry about rules like "don't photograph drunk." "Remember to remove the lens cap" and "Don't get your shadow in the picture."
It's making fun both of bad photographers and of people who try to reduce photography down to just a bunch of rules.
I can't believe that this actually needs to be explained - it's pretty obvious!
you could have made this funny and not made me hate you and think you were a complete dork!!!
Don't unnecessarily embed text in images. Talk about a hack.
Anybody who does think these are serious "rules" is indeed a complete idiot! (or taking the internet way too seriously)
Muito obrigado pelas dicas.
-----
Wow, learned a lot about that, my life changed dramatically after the photographer read this.
Thank you for tips.
My name is Luciano and I'm from Brazil.
I have already forgotten to change the camera's white balance.. kkkkkkkk
regards
Thank you so much.
YOU FAIL AT INTERNET!
but with point 16 i totally disagree.
Portraits in bright sun should be made against the light but with assistance of a flashlight to lighten the person up.
if you take the photos with the sun in your back, the person is allways blinking due to the too bright light.
and point 7 - no, the center is a boring place for a person in portrait. try to use the simple "two-thirds-rule"

Good guidelines for not sucking, but that's a pretty low aspiration.
I know you're not serious about this, but in case there are any budding artists reading, try ignoring the individual guidelines selectively to make your pictures interesting.
if you deconstruct cinema frames, you'll notice how much depth you can add to an image by the choices you make on each one of these points.
WTF!!
Hilarious!!! Good Post.
Funny and interesting :)
i love the one about not being drunk lol
yes,you want to make sure your picture isn't blurry and whatnot, but having different angles and having lines and different exposures and shadows is what makes every photo unique.
you can't tell someone there an idiot for experimenting.
Thank you so much!
most of the written above is a complete set of BULLSHIT!!!
this is awesome!

The title reads "78 Photography Rules for Complete Idiots" i.e. if you want to be a complete idiot, follow those rules rigorously.
You just flip it over, whether digital or film :)
My favourites are the bird and the cloud rule :D
And its so funny, how the i-am-so-serious-and-pro-photographer-fags are taking it seriously :3
Have nice days!
Fint på Få det opfrisket, mænd, det skulle da vist VAERE logik for køer og vejrnøller, ikk?
20 WTF? ...and so on
IMAGE - IMAGINATION
no need for dictated rules
Can't you see this?
